Blockchain analytics firm Chainalysis said an unidentified attacker using “offensive agentic techniques” gained access to its systems and internal tools earlier this month and viewed customer data the firm describes as “non-sensitive”, The Block reported on 31 October. According to the notice, which Chainalysis published on its blog on Friday evening, 30 October (US time), the data included user IDs, full names, email addresses and organization role labels.

Chainalysis said it has so far found no indication that investigation content, transaction or query results, passwords in clear text, MFA secrets or user session tokens were accessed. It did not say when it detected the intrusion, how many customers were affected, which vulnerabilities were used or how AI agents were involved, and it declined The Block’s follow-up questions. The firm said the incident is “not related” to the recent theft at Binance.

Chainalysis said it has hired outside cybersecurity experts and is using large language models to support a broad security review of its platform. It advised affected firms to turn on two-factor authentication and to watch for unexpected password reset requests or login prompts.
